Tendline and Ring Pro
Use both. Ring describes each event as it happens. Tendline holds your expectations: you write what should happen and by when, and it tells you when it didn’t, or that it couldn’t check.
Tendline is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ring LLC or Amazon. Ring and Ring Pro are their trademarks. Ring support in Tendline is in development through Ring’s official partner program and is not live. We describe Ring Pro from Ring’s public pages as of November 2026; if anything here is out of date, email admin1@sovnode.ai and we’ll correct it.
Same house, same Thursday
The top line is motion events, each one described. The bottom line is what Tendline was asked to hold. They answer different questions about the same day.

- Didn’t happen

Nobody came between 12 and 2, so there was no motion event to describe. Tendline was holding an expectation for that window, so it could say the dog walker didn’t come, and that the cameras could see the whole time.
Where each one fits
| If you want | Ring, with Ring Pro | Tendline |
|---|---|---|
| A description of each motion event | Yes. Describing events as they’re recorded is what it’s built for. | Not its job. It uses events as inputs to your routines. |
| A heads-up when something you expected didn’t happen | Ring’s app alerts on what happens. It has no setting for “tell me if this hasn’t happened by 11”. | Write any expectation, for a person, vehicle, package, door or state, with a deadline or a window. Tendline tells you when it didn’t happen, or that it couldn’t check. |
| A check at a set time | Snapshot Capture takes stills on a timer. | Ask any yes-or-no question of a camera at a set time, re-check until it’s right, and get one answer per routine. |
| A package, start to finish | An alert when a package arrives. | Follows it to the end: still out after your limit, brought in, or picked up, on one page you can share. |
| How long someone stayed | Each clip in Event History, with a description. | Joins clips into visits: who arrived, by role, when they left, and for how long. |
| Knowing what couldn’t be checked | Tells you a camera went offline. | Tells you which check or deadline it couldn’t confirm, and why: offline, too dark, no fresh image, or encrypted. |
| Different alerts for different people | Lets each person mute or unmute a device. | Sends each routine to the people you pick, and passes it on if nobody taps Seen. |
| A daily summary | Recaps what happened at one home. | One brief covers every place you look after, and lists what didn’t happen and what couldn’t be checked. |
| Counting and timing over a week | Video Search finds clips from a plain-language search. | Ask how many, how long and how often, with the frames behind each number, and a note when a camera couldn’t see part of the time. |
| Rules learned from your week | Unusual Event Alert explains each alert, but you can’t see or change what it learned. | Proposes plain rules from your week that you can read, edit, test and switch off. |
| Trying a rule before it alerts you | No practice mode in Ring’s app. | A practice week shows what a routine would have sent before it sends anything. |
| Other camera brands | Ring devices. | Ring support in development through Ring’s partner program; any brand by upload; Home Assistant and similar setups by push URL. |
What Ring Pro does that Tendline doesn’t
Tendline doesn’t try to replace any of this.
- Records and stores your video. Tendline keeps a few still frames for a short time, not video.
- Live view and talking through the doorbell. Tendline never streams or speaks.
- Describes and searches every event. Tendline only looks at the events and moments your routines need.
- Recognizes faces you’ve named. Tendline never recognizes faces, by design.
If you have Ring Pro, keep it.
Ring Pro is $19.99 a month (Ring’s listed price, November 2026). Tendline’s free plan covers one home and three routines next to it. If you look after more than your own home, the paid plans add what that job needs.
Ring support is in development through Ring’s official partner program. Until it’s ready, early-access members can upload a clip or a photo from any Ring camera and ask the same questions.
